MAR 9
- Hmmmm, looking back over the number of updates in the last few weeks, It seems that I've again been a tad remiss about posting reviews lately. I have no real excuses for such behaviour, but I can offer up a couple of reasons as to an explanation. Reason number one, my real job is still ultra busy, and is sucking up all the extra time I would normally allot to writing and posting reviews. Reason number two, I've been inundated with a plethora of discs that exemplify the very essence of musical mediocrity. Never in my life have I heard so many middle-of-the-road, ho-hum, do-nothing, time-wasting, soulless, flat, emotionless, virtually empty CDs back to back! What does that mean you ask? It means I've had NO inspiration, that's what it means! It's like this, if I come across a kick-ass disc, then I personally get pretty pumped up about it, and I end up with this uncontrollable desire to share that info with the rest of the world. Conversely, if I stumble upon a steaming lump of goat-shit masquerading as music, then I feel it's my solemn duty to inform the underground music community of said tumorous lump of ruminant mammal feces. However, when discs are neither great, nor horrid, and land in that 5/10 mid range, well then it's hard to get all fired up about reporting on them. Plus, reviews where a disc only earns a 5 or a 6 are usually pretty damn boring to read as well. So, here's the deal, from now on, if I'm reviewing some limp-dick of a disc, that fails to inspire, yet doesn't make me vomit spontaneously, I'm not gonna spend a lot of time on it. You're gonna see a couple sentences tops. For high-profile releases, killer discs, and those that are utterly unbearable, you're still gonna get my long-winded rambling reviews. The rest however will be curt and terse, end of story.

This interestingly enough, brings us to the latest CDs from Daylight Dies, Allele, and Forsaken... enjoy!
